Pure Action Movies – Company City: Walks “True Grit” great in the saddle

January 4th, 2011 admin No comments

Pure Action Movies – True Grit good, but the end, the original book, not the John Wayne version of SAP. This film has all the movies and any other reason, almost all televisions 50 years old West. It is a symbol of the configuration and then added some very good actors (and Matt Damon has never been better?) Listen to the main characters. The latter is what is missing most of the West in recent decades. Hollywood may go missing now gray Western thought is a kind of new generation was old born again. But the “old” quality of character is the reason that flop, and why do it again when she and her dialogue is so convincing in the West as their sarcastic fun to watch and attractive as they are. I’m surprised that this film has not yet become the avatar in the winter, flying past all the other movies you want.

Could easily end up Best Picture, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, director, adapted screenplay, and more.

Pure Action Movies – Expendables The Blu-ray review

December 1st, 2010 admin No comments

Pure Action Movies – Sylvester Stallone was one of the strangest careers in film history. He has the most successful films in the past four decades. But it is also very public failure is known. The highs and lows are intense, as his way of being in an action star for the comedy bad to go directly to the video (which came a decade after the attempt to invent new Copland) at his resurrection. Basically, he’s happy in the other and not Stop the crap! Or My Mom Will, if the money is good. But between Rambo and Rocky Balboa, Sylvester Stallone was one of the comeback, and the Expendables Stallone had his biggest hit in years. Approaching the columns of action as Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lungren, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Eric Roberts, and Terry Crews, who had a multi-generational, multi-ethnic man on a mission to film. My review of The Expendables in Blu-ray continues after the jump. Stallone plays Barney Ross, who works with Lee Christmas (Statham), Ying Yang (Li), Gunner Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), Toll Road (Randy Couture), and Hale Caesar (crew).

Mercenaries, and tasks of the tool (Mickey Rourke), and spend time together after, throwing knives and always new deadlines. In just a transfer of Mr.Church (Bruce Willis), leading to a phenomenon of the Governator. The allocation is a general drug failure (David Zayas) and maintain their connection to the CIA, James Munroe (Eric Roberts). Lee and Barney Barney Scout mission and meet a pretty girl (Giselle EITI), which makes it desirable to complete the mission. In addition, the gunner is committed to principles of the film, is going to help unscrupulous enemy. A man in a film of the mission must be well defined archetypes of terrible situations.

Sorry, we can not offer that Stallone. It takes only what was not a bad thing, but for most of their waste in nature. Couture is sensitive, is a joke. The crew was lost, as the story of Jet Li Li, who wants more money for his family there.

This leads to a Stallone vehicle that can borrow more money, but actually happens, may be part of a struggle. The script is so bad that the machinations of the slim majority of the proposed measures are obvious. The movie is fun when paired with Statham Stallone, and both have a simple chemical (although a little on the level of the occupation forces) together. When will the screening of the movie better because they have the best action sequence in the film. The action scenes are starting to Lundgren, a man in two shots, but there is tired, and it quickly becomes apparent that the heart is in it. If you like to see these actors on screen, is likely to get value for their money, but the story and almost everything that goes with everything that is not done.

It is vaguely reminiscent of the kind of Rat Pack-ish movies where famous people come and feel their work to do this. But for most, the big players have the same personality type that shows only specific enough. This is what happens when you share, which often do not have the kind of charisma. Lions Gate Blu-ray is excellent and presents the film in widescreen (2.351) and 7.1 DTS-HD surround sound.

The film looks and sounds great, as expected. The film comes with a DVD and a digital copy of it. The film is a commentary by Stallone, who is honest enough to follow, but as a “last Recon, also the video comments and exclamations Stallone and many cast and crew (including Lundgren Couture, and the crew, even briefly) and behind the scenes images of PIP. It is followed by the entire plate Expendables film, Stallone and with the greatest number of votes, and sponsored by Harry Knowles (45 min.). This is followed by a decision of the giant named ” Inferno “(92 min.) And (27 min) of a special post-production, titled” From Ashes “, followed .. In between, there are tons of information on the great achievement of the film, a process that Stallone, as in

Pure Action Movies – Shia LaBeouf, who want to play here (and Karl Rove)?

October 8th, 2010 admin No comments

Pure Action Movies – Occasional impairment or Frankie Muniz tabloid page Shia LaBeouf Throwdown be one of the most profitable stars young there.Love him or hate him, with the actor in a leading role even movies with a mix of reviews mega-hits (”Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull “) and suites, with dubious assumptions (” Wall Street Money Never Sleeps “) with considerable success. And if in a big budget tentpole special effects, this is a barn burner at the box office (the first two “Transformers” movies). Critics – and there are many – say that only selects projects infallible, and not something to it. But then you need a certain charm, even at parties at the time place.Yet first offered in the third film in the “Transformers” series is released next summer, LaBeouf, the five films made four years not see anywhere for a while. He s “or book your next game which will probably be the end of 2011 and again in 2012 before catching on the big screen. Their representatives were in Hollywood in recent weeks by a storm talking executives means a lot and producers to try to understand what his party would be next – and frowned one.LaBeouf possible change the court decision referred to in conjunction with “Adaptation of John Grisham thriller shareholders. But this film in the development of two years and has no director, so it is unlikely that nearly overnight. This LaBeouf said the actor is very interested, “the College Republicans,” the comedy-drama about a young Karl Rove in the race for the post of school superintendent, led by Lee Atwater, the campaign is its director. Many players have expressed interest in one of the two main roles – Wes Jones script to the contents of “Beaver” anonymous manufacturers use was a hot commodity in recent months and should be high at the end of the blacklist – and LaBeouf is said to be among the players he wants in.

(No director is not official yet, when it appeared the name of Richard Linklater, which means that recent LaBeouf Studio you mind working with one of the fathers of modern indie movement.) part of the “Republican” would be an important step of all kinds. On the one hand, it is a fleshy part – who never played a character known political or historical. LaBeouf also does not have a major role in a great comedy in his film career. One is given little sympathy hard to believe young women, but since he jumped stardom four years ago, franchises or action (most of the movies that made Thriller (Disturbia, Eagle Eye) “Transformers” is, “Indiana Jones”). him. That If comedy is evident in all his films, usually passes quickly, while the alien robots operate, and a bit of a hole is visible compared to an often star Tom Hanks. Hanks has to speak in “Big” and “The Bachelor Party” has diversified into a comparable level of his career. While the intensity seems LaBeouf against the comedy, but early in his career was stupid of all he has done (with practice cadet Joker in the Disney Channel’s “Even Stevens.” First, uh, point, see the clip below.) Star LaBeouf as he is acting in an enviable position. Weight is about a movie you want, and get a co-star and director, agrees with her.

For players with similar white card, may mean several trips to the cash register action movie (Tom Cruise, for most of his career) or use the power in eccentric roles in projects of passion (Matt Damon and Brad Pitt in its last stage.) LaBeouf is still young enough to decide which way to go.

Pure Action Movies – The Girl Who Played towing a hornet’s nest, a silent film

October 5th, 2010 admin No comments

Pure Action Movies – We understand the concern of those responsible for the trailer when it comes to putting together a clip reel is attractive to a foreign film. The fear of the subtitles are annoying. But you know what is boring? Fans of quick cuts consisting of a film, apparently, came together to create a sense of mounting the action and drama, but really picked a dialogue, to avoid the dreaded subtitles. Enjoy this trailer of The Girl Who Played hornet’s nest, all quick cuts, no entertainment, music and theater, as if after two films and millions of pounds from the Swedish “Millennium” series “is unknown or stays the best kept secret. That’s right, guys, we know that we have to talk to wait for the U.S. version of the film English characters, so if you like a scene more than two seconds, which might feel good flash effect break! On the other hand a better hand is Lisbeth Salander Mohawk looked very, very strong.

Pure Action Movies – Reviews: After Life: Resident Evil

September 13th, 2010 admin No comments

Pure Action Movies – Milla Jovovich is back in the kick-ass zombie so Alicia, again with her husband, Paul WAS Anderson in the top of Resident Evil Afterlife, and the most surprising thing is with 3D graphics, the fact that , this franchise made it collapse to 4 film without weak character development and the general lack of integrity. While video game Resident evil, started life as an action game intense first person who had the tone and scope of something closer to George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, was Paul Anderson, the Hollywood treatment in the most extreme and shameless sense amplifier, where the technology and the effects of the franchise, while minimizing the elements of horror and suspense. In essence, the modification of a horror game in a sci-fi action, Anderson created the main character, Alice, and the consequences later, gave him superhuman powers, then cloned again and again. The fourth installment follows the logic of its three predecessors, the existing act essentially as a cornerstone of the action of several big plays that seem to grow in disbelief at any time. That is exactly what you expect from a videogame adaptation, as if the commandment is a requirement in the translation of these properties to the big screen. The story begins with a video-game-like without rampant in Tokyo as Alice runs a stall in the Umbrella Corporation always negative, chills, and then for a time in Alaska. There she meets Ali Larter, who suffers from amnesia (which seems to be a constant in the RE franchise) and together they head to Los Angeles for the house of a lighthouse. There, the land on the roof of a skyscraper big prison, surrounded by hordes of flesh hungry undead. Sounds like a typical visit to Los Angeles in jail, they find, of all people, Wentworth Miller Prison Break, Larter’s brother plays. Many talk about following bands take boring Mile near a shower, but for a zombie invasion way too soon interrupted to the chagrin of the spectators, mostly men, youth, and the new equipment is needed to find the flight of the living dead The source of transmission to save.

Once the film is based on rhythm, Anderson is right on the matrix mode to ensure that the public has of us as your 3D Domain surprise …. except that it all feels incredibly dated. Super shot gun-slow motion and flying glass, sunglasses dressed villain, the partition of techno, Resident Evil Afterlife is a bit of style these days, unless you are into this kind of thing. In general, if you’re a fan of the series, is likely to come out of it, but if you look real substance to the zombie horror movies with humans, you might want to skip this.. .

Pure Action Movies – Movie Review: “The Expendables”

August 24th, 2010 admin No comments

Pure Action Movies – I could not stop thinking about two other movies released this year, while “losers” and “The A-Team.” The plots are almost identical. A small group of fighters in and out of the situation after another, with dozens of bad guys, avoiding any injury. Seriously, how can a team of five soldiers killed in “The Expendables”, killing more than 100 villains and none of them? Perhaps the most important difference between “The Expendables” and two other films is that “The Expendables” is R, a significant amount of blood and violent death is rated table. I wrote this, but I prefer my action movies to PG-13. Add a couple of bad guys in this movie was ripped a bit too much for my taste. The film begins with an action scene of fun on board a ship, but it slows down a bit. The spectators are the action scenes in which the stars interact with and treated jokes back and forth. Mickey Rourke is looking for – just as the villain in “Iron Man 2 Play” – appears here, as I suspect, because it is the only measure, the stars in a decent actor as well, and offers decent monologues why he withdrew the war scene . (Seriously, the movie has to stop Rourke is The Expendables “between takes of” Iron Man 2? “He really looks the same here) concerns you may have about this movie is too much talk and not enough action was quickly suffocated, as more than 20 minutes, the team’s final attack on an island in the Gulf of Mexico and through the bad took control of an operation to execute large amounts of cocaine.

The dialogue is, at least the action scenes to center stage. Stallone, of course, is the team leader of the great struggle. Statham (better known as “Transporter” movies known and “action film Crank) plays its definitely a bit of character here than in most other films where he was so confident and charming. Stallone and Statham has a good chemistry with which time here friends. film Other measures only stars in place to fill. MMA fight Randy Couture is a wooden actor, but at least the dialogue is kept to a minimum.

Former WWE wrestler Steve Austin remains one of the villains here, not far from any loss of his “Stone Cold” Steve Austin “sign when I was in the ring. Other villains here include David Zayas, a policeman know the Showtime series “Dexter,” although his biography he says with a star on “Oz”, but I never saw this series of cable television. Another villain is Eric Roberts, who played the villain self-sufficiency in all roles, he is either in “Dark Knight” or a clip of the song by The Killers “Mr.Brightside.” Filmed at 80,000,000 budget, “The Expendables” earned 65,000,000 at the box office on Sunday. The best reviews RottenTomatoes he gets a small percentage, but surprisingly, it comprises 34 percent approval rating Average viewers liked. Overall, 59 percent of the audience that a grade of “A”, while 23 percent gave a class “B” to www.boxofficemojo.com.

This film will not win a prize drama school, but little performance Rourke stands out from others. If you are groping for an action movie in the summer, it fits the bill.

Pure Action Movies – 4 New ‘A-Team “Videos

June 3rd, 2010 admin No comments

Pure Action Movies – . The more I see of Sharlto Copley (District 9), “Mad” Murdock Howling, the more I want to see this movie. I know its strange if you have any measure – and, of course, the other three team members. But doing something about the presence of Copley me here, they expect even more. I think both action-oriented videos solidify the fact that the film goes beyond most and the land of the absurd. But honestly, that was probably the goal, and I think it is ultimately a strength rather than weakness – after all, that the character of Jessica Biel in the last trailer A-Team, says, “They specialize in the ridiculous. ” What do you think of the latest videos A-Team? Do you agree with Copley was released and the action is completely ridiculous (but still fun

Pure Action Movies The Road a review

January 18th, 2010 admin No comments

Based on Cormac McCarthy novel the movie is a simple story of survival told through a father and his son as they struggle through and apocalyptic wasteland where everything is slowing dying. We are not told what has happened but its clear that the world is in trouble. The father played by Viggo Mortenson struggles to survive with his son in tow all the while questioning himself should he live or just give up even to the point of showing his son how to end it.

The movie relies on the interaction between father and son and the threat of starvation and gangs of other survivors who have reverted to cannibalism. THe movie is not an action adventure move and shouldnt be viewed as such, its basically the struggle for survival and a father love for his son and his struggle for his own humanity.

Good movie and nice performances from the leads.

Pure Action Movies Sherlock Holmes with a difference

January 18th, 2010 admin No comments

Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey and Jude is n ot your typical Holmes adventure. The director Guy Ritchie has created something that a lot of purists will hate and people not familiar with the books will enjoy. I am a huge fan of the books and the old Basil Rathbone movies and Jeremy Brett tv series so I consider myself a purist at heart. That being said I did enjoy the movie and the leads do a good job and there is good interaction between them and the story is well paced.

The story is pure boys own adventure set in a fictional London which is well realised with good production values, the Tower of London is one that stands out. My only gripe is that the movie is just a bit too long could shave at leasat 15 minutes but its just a minor quibble. If your looking for Adventure, Romance, Comedy, Drama and Martial Arts this is a great popcorn movie and you will not be bored.

Pure Action Movies Daybreakers another Vampire movie oh joy Zzzzzz

January 18th, 2010 admin No comments

Cant believe I spent movie to see this, ok its not totally crap the effects are good but nothing you havent seen before.

Plot, the world has been tisaken over by vampires humand are farmed for their blood and society continues to function. The only problem  the blood is running out and the vampires are regressing into a more subhuman animalistic state. Ethan Hawke plays a vampire with a heart who cares for the human race and attempts to create a fake blood solution so the humans can be saved.

The story starts of well and there is hope that this might actually go somewhere but halfway through things change and things start getting stupid. If your a vampire fan and love silly sci-fi this might be the movie for you.

Myself I cant get by the plot holes there are too many and the movie doesnt make sense.

Yes we know that vampires hate sunlight but not when they wear a hat or stand under a tree apparently, this is the first plot hole. The second is if their are only a few human survivors left why dont they simply go out in the day and kill the vampires when they sleep?. I mean come on if your going to make a big budget movie at least make it slightly plausible.

Pure Action Movies review Give em Hell Malone

January 4th, 2010 admin No comments

Pure Action Movies always has time for something different unfortunately Give em Hell Malone fails to live up to the mark, if your going to recreate a pulp film noir action hero in the vain of Mike Hammer or Sam Spade at least cast the right actor, Thomas Jane just doesnt cut it for me hes too wooden.

Another thing that bugged me was the villians, ripping of Sin City and Dark Knight especially the later with a very bad imitation of Heath Ledger’s Joker was insulting to watch and Ving Rhames looked as bored as he did in the Tournament.

The first ten minutes of the movie are good, plenty of action and well paced but after that it died bigtime and went straight to chimp screenplay. Using wirework to control falls may work for high falls but look shoddy in my opinion when done from say ten feet.

Its hard to pin down what this movie is supposed to be. Is it a film noir or a spoof it really is hard to tell and this does detract from it, and the ending makes no sense whatsoever only that there might be a sequel. Hopefully someone will make a fanedit and it will make it more enjoyable.

Sopme people will compare it to Sin City or Shoot em up, Let me tell you it is not. Very disappointing.

Pure Action Movies review Universal Soldier: Regeneration yes they made another one

January 4th, 2010 admin No comments

Pure action movies has always been an advocate of lost causes and backing the underdog. With this being the case here is my review of Universal Soldier: Regeneration (number 4 as checked on imdb).

Hard to believe someone had the balls to make a fourth, wow is the first superlative to think that the first one in the series wasnt all that good it come as a shock that this one ticks all the right buttons, good acting, great story and good production and locations.

Yes it has Dolph Lundgren and JCVD and its still a good move no…ITS A GREAT MOVIE. Finally a good movie thats not spoilt by stupid CGI or complicated plots and hamming acting.

Pure Action Movies Dances with smurfs review yes its Avatar

December 15th, 2009 admin No comments

Yep ! Just come back from seeing Avatar sneak preview, its out there as the most technicial movie ever made nothing comes close to touching this forget Star Wars or Bladerunner this is the new benchmark the Matrix has had its day this is the new daddy.

The 3-D is stunning I’ve never seen such detail in almost every scene, they must have broken a lot of PC’s for this one. The backdrop to the alien world is incredibly realised as for the aliens the Naavi are incrediblely designed by WETA.

Yes there is a but coming and here it is……the story! Its a bit of a let down imagine Dances with Wolves set on a different planet and thats the story throw in a bit mother earth and eco hippy stuff and thats about it.

Action yes there is action lots of action and well paced which is just as well considering its 160 minutes long.

Lastly the 3-D glasses are not glasses there goggles and there heavy and no you cannot keep them (why would you).

2012 the happy movie for happy people

November 18th, 2009 admin No comments

So Independence Day was not enough for Roland Emmerich he had to freeze the world in Day after tomorrow and drown almost the entire humans race in 2012. I think this guy needs help, no but seriously how far can you stretch the idea of the earth doomsday prophecy ?

Well in his latest offering pretty far, the story goes that the Sun produces a solar flare full of nasy neutrinos that penetrate the earths crust and start heating things up which causes massive upheaval off the continental plates and destroys every major continent and country except bits of China and Africa. Yes this is a spoiler and you be glad of it considering the movie is 158 mins long. Oh forgot to mention that John Cusack and Oliver Platt are in it along with Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton,Woody Harrelson,Danny Glover, and George Segal amazing cast for such a bad movie.

Bad movie yes but wait how a bout a B movie well if you look at as a B movie it does kinda work the ridiculous story and effects do give it some merit but you have to ask yourself is it warranted I leave it to you to decide.

If you really want to see it wait for the DVD and fast forward through the boring bits.

G.I. Joe Rise of the Cobra

October 5th, 2009 admin No comments

Kung Fu Grip and batteries included.

Managed to view G.I. Joseph over the weekend, and what do I have say about it…..

As you all know I have a distinct hatred of bloated  and heavily laden fx movies with the dreaded cgi and stunts (created by wintel). But as that maybe…it works for G.I. Joe all the gadgets and characters are there and while there is no plot or story somehow it manages to pull it off (in a totally tongue in cheek way) throw in some incredibly hammy acting from Dennis Quaid and it works.

One word of praise is Sienna Miller who dominates every scene without her the whole thing would fall apart, another big suprise is Joseph Gordon Levitt (nice to see him sneaking away from the independents for a while) kudos to you.

Gamer…Gammy more like it

September 28th, 2009 admin No comments

gamer-medium-poster[1]

I like 300, I like Gerald Butler in an action role, I like Crank and Crank 2

However  I DO NOT LIKE GAMER !

You would think it would have everything going for it, christ it even has the guy who plays Dexter as the villian.

But no unfortunately thats not the case here, what we have is a stereotypical unoriginal piece which takes it story from the Running Man and thats the story taken care off oh and before I forgot Avalon (suprised the producers of that movie didnt sue as the story is a direct copy)

Now for the action what little coherent set piece’s  were ruined by hyper editing and shakycam with some stupid graphics thrown in. It was impossible to see who was shooting who, even some of the stunts looked CGI enhanced.

One last word you know your in trouble when the best thing in an action movie is the dance scene, I kid you not !

District 9 anybody for a Prawn cocktail ?

September 11th, 2009 admin No comments

alien[1]

Saw District 9 a few days ago and it does live up to the hype (believe it).

Never have I seen such an original visually arresting film, blending social issues as racism, exclusion and melodrama wrapped up in sci-fi story. This movie is quite simply the best sci-fi move made in the last five years.

A spaceship suddenly appears over Johannesburg and its inhabitant are insect-like bi-ped refugees who are set to become the new outcasts by the SA government who segregate them in their own township called district 9. A few years go by and things have gotten worse the township has now become a slum and the indigenous population are calling for the aliens to be relocated to intermittent camps 30 miles outside the city.

Cant say too much else without giving all the plot away, but I’ll just say this the ending does not disappoint.

If you have seen already seen this I suggest you checkout the directors other short films by logging into imdb.

Knowing I should have known better

September 2nd, 2009 admin No comments

I cant take any more disappointments, I have just seen Knowing probably the stupidest god awful flicks I’ve ever seen. But that’s not the worse of it it was directed by one of my favourite directors Alex Proyas of Crow and Dark City fame and I Robot (even with Will Smith still a helluva good movie).

First part of the movie did have an interesting 20 mins or so but after that oh boy did it go down hill fast, the story if you can call it that turned into a farce. I know (get it ?) its hard for screenwriters to come up with ideas, but come on ! aliens saving the day and a revised Noah’s ark subplot!?!?!? its enough to make you weep when you think of the wonderful underused acting and directorial talent just going to waste on crap like this.

I’m sorry this isn’t a review as such its just me venting, worse thing about it though I was actually warned about this from a friend of mine…I should have KNOWN better

I hate this movi so much I’m not even going to piut a pic up!
